On Competition and the Night
Yesterday was a good day. I wish I did good with the design, my concept was simplicity. But, I think it will not give me enough score, it is something that the design is not too advanced, or not too ‘TopCoder style’. At least that is what i feel.
Well, no regret for everything. Here we are.
All competitors have been given the specification for round three contest which will be held Wednesday. Round two will also be held tomorrow, but apparently the spec will be opened on desk, so we still get a surprise thing. The task for round three is to design for one sponsor which is a cover for Eli Lilly report. Lilly is a leading global pharmacheutical company. I can’t share any more at this time. Let’s us see.
For now, we definetely know that both later projects are print design. It means we must deliver some CMYK vector, and I would I like it. I have been prepared for the last month to studying Illustrator, and also brainwashed my brain for some good insight on design perspective. I really wish I could do much at this time, tough I knew that many other competitors are a professional designer and did many professional print projects. But, this is the time to challenge my self, and this is what competititon is about.
Last night, I also have a good time hanging out with other Indonesian designers, all five of them. We planned to see the show at the Treasure Island, cause last year I can’t make it due to weather so it been cancelled. At 10pm sharp, we all ready in front of TI bridge, but apparently we were not lucky because there were a little rain and the wind is quite heavy. The show was cancelled.
Then we take a long walk to Caesar Palace, and then to Bellagio. After playing some jackpot, and I lost 10 dollars for it. No game any more, I just want to try how it feel to play jackpot. It really is a money grabber machine. And, we also have a great time watching how beautiful is the fountain is dancing at the night. At 12pm, the show closed by American anthem. And we got home.
