2008 Explained

We have passed the 2008 for about nine days. Okay, this post due long ago, but better late than never.

Let me use this post to record what was happened to me, in life, in work, and something in between. I hope this can be a useful to me, to look after a year after year.

In regard to work at 2008, I have worked and earned as much as I had got in 2007. Quite a surprise! This is wonderful, for sure. It makes me believe that the path I take at the right track, and I am more confidence to continue with it. Thanks to TopCoder (especially Studio TopCoder) and their clients to provide me the exciting and great projects. It is truly a challenging opportunities to work full time as a competitor in their competitive based workplace. I would like to give special thanks to these company: TopCoder, AOL, Eli Lilly, LendingTree, WiVo, Ferguson, ProFlo, and some others who stay anonymous behind the names like: Lycurgus, Mercury, Diana, and Diana-Mira. It was a great pleasure to me to work with such wonderful companies and created a successful projects. [NOTE: If you are interested to work in competitive based workplace at TopCoder, the registration is easy and you can directly get a great projects at your choice from architecture, programming to creative process. Don’t forget to include my handle “oton” when registering]

Last year, I would also remember it as the toughest period of my life. As everyone has been, with all the downturn of global market, I am wondering how much you have lost in the stock market. Above that, I have faced an up and down of the way I walk through the year, tough decision and tough relationship turnover. That said. I will try to explain more, but I can’t. Unethical matter. But I can say a short story.

Last year was also a time for something important happened. Something, that I absolutely knew, would change my whole perspective about everything, especially those related to partnership, friendship, and entrepreneurship. Short to say, I was above in highly trust to someone, a senior of me, we discussed, talked everything. But at the end, he ended up backstabbed me. To say short. Never put all of these friendship, partnership, and entrepreneurship in a bucket to work! Never! Ever! It’s better to make a partnership with someone strange to you (not that close or had any connection in whatsoever, not a school friends, not family relatives, not in religious affairs), but the most important in all of these things before starting a partnership, I think you should be better have a good instinct (or intuituion) of the person before starting everything. If you don’t believe or have a bad intuition, leave it at once. I left my intuition back at 2005 and I got a disaster at 2008. Lesson learned.

Well, I have others 2008 wrap ups including some books I have bought and read in that year, and I think it would be great if I share it here because I felt that the books are really important and changed the way I live. But I’ll put that in another post.

In addition, I would also thanks to all of my friends who have worked with me, connected with, and played with, and some a new friends for everything we had enjoyed in last year. To my blog readers and advertiser (yes, I made some hundred bucks last year to provide a hosting for this very blog), thank you for your support. Wish me I could do better to publish more good content in future year.
