2009: A Look Ahead

Well, 2008 has been explained. So how is 2009 looks like to me?

I am not such a good person on writing a prediction, or even worse, I am a damn terrible on keeping a promise to myself. So this is not a mission statement. It is even not a resolution. This is just a note of what 2009 might looks like to me. I will list all I have in minds, all possibilities I might take on the course of the year. Hoping it just, err, be documented. May be it will be forgotten in the end of 2009. But may be, sometime, I would fulfill some of the prophecy :-)

I will continue doing full time work on competitive based workflow, tough…
Widianto.com will be open for more serious online presence, separated entity as arifwidi.com which remains as my blog outlet. Widianto.com will become the main entrance to our family website, including wife’s and already established Sofia’s blog. It should be finalized before the first quarter of the year.
Digdaya.com will be open for business. Some details will be published in near future. Maybe for half of the year.
The process of my previous “disastrous” joint-venture closing will be finalized, I hope it will succeed before the first quarter of 2009. Tough work will come as the closing, some explanation and report.
Learning and expanding my knowledge of Objective-C language and Cocoa/CocoaTouch framework. Interesting framework and language, as well as the opportunities.
Exploring more of my previous, halted, learning process of Python and Ruby. Ouch, what about PHP, my dear lovely CakePHP which already turned to 1.2? May be I will using it for some of my project, as a backend, or may be not. It’s the damn easy and powerful framework. But who kows what will happens.
Buying a new Digital SLR camera? Huh, ask the wife. I like to learn more about photography as well, but this is not a must. Tough, high chance it will happen :)
Buying new laptop replacement for my nearly 3 years old Acer laptop. Yeah, I pick amortization range for hardware (for working) for about 3 years. Haha, it must be a new MacBook. I dreamt it.
May be, just may be, publishing some of blog themes.
Launching my first iPhone apps. I hope it not later than half the year. But the TCO season hardly seems will making everything halted :| Other thing to note, my enrollment to iPhone Developer Program seems unclear. I have faxed my manual billing processing form to Apple, but not any news is coming till now. Apple Asia staff answered that I should be patient, they will coordinate with billing team to get to know what happens, and tell me as soon as it happens. So, I am waiting my dear Apple.
Will have our first backpack journey with wife and some friends. First to ASEAN. Wohoo. Can’t wait for it to happens.
Be more productive, tough a hard scheduling will facing in the first half of the year, during the time my wife is busy finishing her final thesis work.
Reading lots nice books.
Watching movies. It has been about 3 years we didn’t go to theater. Terrible. I don’t want to watch movie by myself. I want to go with wife (and may be with daughter). Apparently, last experience told Sofia was currently afraid with the big screen and we sneak out while the show run for about 30 minutes.
The last the very important of all, I want to be a better designer. Designer at heart.
