Nuclear Warfare: A 'Chicken' Game!
I just read a new translated book of Bertrand Russell (Indonesian revised edition), Common Sense and Nuclear Warfare. It's interested books, not too thick tough, but inspireable and chalengging. This book presents Bertrand Russell's keen insights into the threat of nuclear conflict, and his argument that the only way to end this threat is to end war itself. Written at the height of the Cold War, this book offers an understanding of Russell's involvement in the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and his passionate campaigning for peace. It remains significant in the modern nuclear world, and is should be useful for those interested in Russell and postwar history.Instead of serious only excerpt, i found a funny fable about nuclear warfare, it's named 'Chicken Game'. The game did use an only stright-paving-road with white line in center and two cars vis a vis. Each hoped still stand in white line in the center while both cars drive collided. More close each droves, more danger they will be. If one of them turn away the stir (to avoid collide because he must be scary), then the antagonist which stand on white line will exclaim loudly "Chicken!". Ironically to this analogy, when it plays on nuclear warfare, when the times is arrived (both cars still stand on white line), they will create a catastrophe for the world. Yet, still none of them will be a chicken! Only the people would be just a fried chicken :)
